THUA THIEN – HUE (VNS) — More than 900 kids from 90 school teams in Thua Thien-Hue Province will compete in a football festival on Sunday.
The event organiser, Football for All in Viet Nam, said it's a football fun day to promote gender equality on Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20th).
The football festival, entitled ‘gender equality in football', will see teams comprised of three girls and two boys competing in five-a-side matches on 16 football pitches.
All captains must be girls, and goals may only be scored by girls and there is no final or second or third-place playoffs.
The organising committee also hosts four life-skill camps for kids with fun ball games, life-skills for girls, technical practice with ball and young leadership as well as cultural performance. — VNS
