HCM CITY (VNS) — Viet Nam's No 1 tennis player, Ly Hoang Nam, dropped from the 1035th to 1038th place in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals' (ATP) world rankings released on Monday.
The lower ranking comes in response to Nam failed to make it to the US Open 2015 in both men's singles and couples.
Despite his low ATP rankings, Nam remains in 13th position in the International Tennis Federation's (ITF) rankings.
Nam will play in this year's Viet Nam Open in HCM City, which begins in two weeks on October 10th.
Nam will be extra intent on banking some wins at the event to help regain his position in ATP's rankings. — VNS
