Nam wins first match in Egypt

HA NOI  (VNS) — Top Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam defeated Youssef Hossam of Egypt in the second match of the qualifying round of the US$10,000 Egypt 27 Futures on Sunday.

Nam easily defeated his rival 6-3, 6-3.

In the third match, Nam will meet Anthony Turchi of France.

Seeded number six, Nam didn't have to compete in the first match of the qualifying round.

Earlier, Nam was disqualified from the Egypt F26 Futures tournament after the first match of the main round.

Nam, along with his Indian partner Sumit Nagal, won the Wimbledon boy's doubles title last month. — VNS
