HA NOI (VNS) — Australian Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners are both seeking to sign a contract with Viet Nam's striker, Nguyen Cong Phuong.

The A-League representatives have been watching the national U23 player and both want to have him on their teams, in preparation for their tournament which will start in October, according to thethaovanhoa.vn.

V.League 1's Hoang Anh Gia Lai, who owns the talented player, have confirmed the interest in Phuong, but said they had no interest in selling his contract.

Phuong is asked to concentrate on competing in the national league, where his club is facing a relegation risk.
