HA NOI (VNS) — Japan beat Viet Nam 3-2 to top Group B and enter the quarter-finals of the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup's AFC qualifier in Qatar yesterday.
Japan have six points from two games and will want to stay undefeated when they face China, who also entered the quarter-final round after beating Kuwait 4-3.
Viet Nam have no chance of advancing after suffering two losses (they lost to China 2-3 earlier). However, they will next face Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan beat UAE 6-5 in Group C, Laos lost to Oman 3-8 and Bahrain defeated Qatar 6-1 in Group A, while Thailand lost to Lebanon 2-3 in Group D.
The Asian elimination round, in which 17 teams are participating, will end on March 28. The top three teams will get to compete in the global tournament to be held in Praia da Baia, Portugal, from July 9 to 19. — VNS
