HA NOI (VNS) — This year's ASEAN ParaGames will be held in December, six months after the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, the organisers said.
This is the first time the sporting event for athletes with disabilities will not be held right after the SEA Games.
The eighth ParaGames, which will be held from December 3 to 10, are expected to draw about 1,300 to 1,500 participants and more than 500 officials. Between 11 and 15 sports will be featured during the games.
This will be a historic games as it will be the first time Singapore is hosting the ASEAN Para Games and holding the multi-sporting event for the disabled at such a large scale.
Viet Nam will send athletes to compete in six events: track-and-field, swimming, powerlifting, along with table tennis, badminton, chess, bowling and bocia. The delegation are expected to make top four.
Last Games in Myanmar in early 2014, Viet Nam ranked fourth, bagging 48 golds, 65 silvers and 72 bronzes. — VNS
