Athletes set to compete in Mekong Delta Cycling Tour 2014

HA NOI  (VNS) — More than 100 cyclists from 19 teams nationwide will compete in the Mekong Delta Cycling Tour for the An Giang Plant Protection Cup this month.

The 23rd tour will go through 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta, with eight stages spanning over 781km.

The tour will begin at the Ba Son Shipyard in HCM City on Thursday and finish in Can Tho six days later.

The tour is a warm-up for members of the national men's cycling team such as Mai Nguyen Hung, Le Van Duan, Bui Minh Thuy, Nguyen Thanh Tam and Trinh Duc Tam in preparation of the 17th ASIAD in South Korea this September. . — VNS
