HCM CITY (VNS) — Hung Vuong An Giang have said goodbye to four players with two games still remaining in the V-League.
An Giang, who are facing relegation, released goalkeeper Nguyen Minh Nhut, defender Nguyen Cong Thanh, and midfielders Nguyen Minh Tung and Pham Ngoc Quoc. Apart from Nhut, the other three were regular members of the main team.
"Their contracts will expire soon. We have failed to reach new agreements with them so we decided to let them go," said Vo Hoang Phong, An Giang's executive director.
"We may also face a play-off match this season so players who no longer want to give it their all should go," he added.
However, all four players were surprised to receive, saying they had always tried their best for the team.
An Giang are currently bottom of the table with only 12 points.
Their next match is away at third-placed Thanh Hoa on August 3. — VNS
