Minh wins stage 1, An adjudged best cyclist

HA NOI (VNS) – Eximbank HCM City's Le Nguyet Minh won his first stage of the HCM City Television Cycling Cup on April 29.

Minh made a strong sprint in the final few metres to win the 110km-long 10th stage from Da Lat City to Bao Loc City, clocking a time of 2hr 9.36min, with an average speed of 46km per hour.

Duo Le Van Duan and Mai Nguyen Hung of SunTek Sao Viet HCM City finished second and third, respectively.

Ho Huynh Van An of An Giang Plant Protection remained undefended as the tour leader after 10 stages, as he is the quickest one with a total time of 25:04.10.

Trailing close behind are Huynh Vên Thuan of ADC-Vinh Long Television and Phan Hoang Thai from Domesco Dong Thap Pharmacy.

An also solidified his position as the best cyclist with the green jersey yesterday, as he has grabbed 74 points with only one stage left to be contested.

Dinh Quoc Viet of SunTek Sao Viet HCM City was awarded the King of the Mountain title with a bonus of a red jersey.

His team continues to be the tour's best squad with their competitive timing of 73:48.28. An Giang and Domesco Dong Thap are trailing far behind them with a nearly two-minute gap. – VNS
