Ninh Binh to face strong rivals

NINH BINH (VNS) - National Cup champion Ninh Binh will face powerful rivals at the 2014 Asian Football Confederation Cup, after the result of Tuesday's draw was announced in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Ninh Binh is in Group G, together with Yangon United (Myanmar), South China of Pegasus (Hong Kong) and Kelantan (Malaysia). These teams are seniors at the tournament, as Ninh Binh is a newcomer to the league.

As the Viet Nam's V-League champion, Ha Noi T&T also has been allowed to join the tournament. They are in Group F, along with Arema Cronous (Indonesia), Selangor (Malaysia) and Maziya S&R (Maldives).

T&T are also Viet Nam's representative taking part in the play-off round of the AFC Champions League 2014 against seven rivals. In case of winning, T&T will join the League and SHB Da Nang, the National Cup's runner-up, will replace them at the AFC Cup event.

The Cup will be kicked off in February and continue until mid-May. — VNS
