Liem drops two places to 29th in world chess ranking

Viet Nam's top chess player, Le Quang Liem, has dropped two places since early last month to 29th ranking by the World Chess Federation's (FIDE).

The International grand master now has an Elo of 2714.

At the national rapid-blitz chess tournament that concluded on Friday, Liem was crowned the winner in the rapid event, but came only second in blitz-chess.

He is scheduled to attend the Asian Championships from May 17-27 in Manila. — VNS
