Four Vietnamese make it to Asian youth tennis topflight

Four Vietnamese teenagers have qualified for the International Tennis Federation's Asian 14 & Under Development Championships – Division 1 following outstanding performances at the lower level.

Nguyen Dac Tien, who dominated the boys' singles and doubles events with four titles at the ITF's Asian 14-and-Under Division 2 Championship in HCM City, secured the first ticket.

Nguyen Mau Vinh Quang, who finished second in the singles and doubles, was the second player to go through to Division 1, which features stronger tennis countries like China, India and South Korea.

Among girls, Nguyen Linh Tiffany and Nguyen Thu Phuong qualified.

Singapore, the UAE, Yemen, and Iran each have one qualifier.

The Asian 14 & Under Development Championships - Division 1 will be held from March 4 to 17 in the Philippines.-VNS
