Nguyen Anh Khoi beat Andrey Esipenko of Russia in the 11th and final round of the World Youth Chess Championship which wrapped up early yesterday in Maribor, Slovenia.
Vietnamese Khoi was already crowned champion early on Sunday after winning 10 games. He topped the rankings with 11 points, followed by Shant Sargsyan of Armenia (nine points) and L.N. Ram Aravind of India (8.5 points).
Nguyen Thi Mai Hung finished fourth in the girls' U18 event with eight points.-VNS
