Vietnamese top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh will defend his title at the National Individual Badminton Championships-Yonex Sunrise next Monday in Thanh Hoa.
Commentators say it won't be difficult for the world No 14 against the likes of Le Ha Anh, Nguyen Hoang Nam and Nguyen Hoang Hai.
The five-day event attracts 120 players in 18 teams who compete in men's and women's singles and doubles and mixed doubles.
The male winner will receive US$1,000 and female winner $750.
Minh will contest the Japan Open Super Series from September 18-23 where he is seeded No 8. He will face France's Brice Leverdez in his opening match and then, if he wins, Malaysia's Daren Liew.-VNS
