HCM CITY — Vietnamese badminton ace Nguyen Tien Minh won the Yonex Sunrise badminton championships-Viet Nam Open yesterday in HCM City.

Seeded No 1 Minh beat Japanese player Takuma Ueda, No 6, 21-14, 21-19 in the men's singles final in 50 minutes to win the first title of this year.

This is the fourth title he has won in the competition, which is in its fifth year. He previously won tournaments in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
