Update: June, 19/2012 - 09:39

Viet Nam's U22 football team defeated the Maldives 5-0 in a friendly match during a training course in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday.

The Vietnamese players encountered little resistance during the match. In the 15th minute, they opened scoring thanks to a shot from Le Quoc Phuong. One minute later, Nguyen Dinh Bao received the ball from Phuong to beat the rival goalkeeper. In the 18th minute, Giang Tran Quach Tan raised the score and finished the first half on a 3-0 lead.

Although coach Lu Dinh Tuan changed players to test their skills, Viet Nam sailed through the game.

They earned two more goals thanks to Ngan Van Dai and Mac Hong Quan in the 48th and 77th minutes, respectively. — VNS
