HA NOI — Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) showed their prowess on Monday as they defeated Ninh Binh 2-0 in the round 11 match at Ninh Binh Stadium.
"I think Ninh Binh are a strong football team, but SLNA controlled the match well. I am very satisfied with my players' performance. They showed their spirit and determination. This win is a big driving force for the team after a series of draws," said SLNA coach Nguyen Huu Thang.
After beating Sai Gon FC in the round 10 match at Ninh Binh Stadium, the hosts took the offensive to find early goals, but without key players Tien Thanh and Danh Ngoc, they were unable to stop SLNA striker Bebbe's 9th minute score.
After the break, the two sides attacked to seek goals. In the 55th minute, Hector doubled the score for the visitors.
With this win, SLNA have 17 points, increasing three steps to fourth place in the ranking table. Ninh Binh now rank seventh with 15 points.
In another match played at Hang Day Stadium, Ha Noi FC drew with Navibank Sai Gon 1-1.
Ha Noi FC created dangerous situations for the visitors' goalie but failed to score, while Navibank Sai Gon played defence to limit strikers' opportunities.
In the 60th minute, Quang Huong opened the score for Navibank Sai Gon and 24 minutes later, Ha Noi FC's Ambrose levelled the match.
After round 11, Ha Noi T&T take the lead with 20 points, Binh Duong and Sai Gon FC come to second and third with 20 and 19 points, respectively. Ha Noi FC stand in 11th place with 12 points, while Navibank Sai Gon are 8th with 13 points. — VNS
