UK embassy salutes Olympic babies

HA NOI — To promote the summer Olympicsto take place in London this year, as well as the 60th anniversary of the coronation of the Queen, British Deputy Ambassador to Viet Nam Kate Harrisson yesterday presented gifts to the first baby to be born this year at the Central Maternity Hospital in Ha Noi.

Harrison presented a mascot and gifts related to the London Olympics to Le Hoang Bach Hai, who was born at 12.45am on Sunday, weighing 2.3kg.

The gifts were offered to the first baby born this year in all countries which have a UK embassy.

He is the second son of Le Hoang and Tran Viet Nga, who work in the Department of Health.

According to Harrisson, baby Hai was one of a new generation that would grow up loving culture and sports and who would be bridges connecting the UK and Viet Nam.. – VNS
