HÀ NỘI – Seven out of eight Vietnamese team members have bagged prizes at the 18th Asian Physics Olympiad held in Yakutsk, Russia from May 1 to 9, according to the General Department of Education Testing and Accreditation under the Ministry of Education and Training.
Đinh Anh Dũng, a 12th grader from Hà Nội-Amsterdam Gifted High School, won the gold medal.
The three silver medals went to 12th graders Nguyễn Thế Quỳnh of Võ Nguyên Giáp High School for the gifted in Quảng Bình Province, Tạ Bá Dũng from the gifted high school under the University of Natural Sciences of the Hà Nội National University and Trần Hữu Bình Minh, from Phan Bội Châu High School for the gifted in Nghệ An Province.
11th grader Nguyễn Ngọc Long, from Lam Sơn High School for the gifted in Thanh Hóa Province and two 12th grade students Nguyễn Đình Bách from Hà Nội-Amsterdam High School and Phan Tuấn Linh from Phan Bội Châu High School for the gifted in Nghệ An were awarded certificates of merit.
As many as 153 students from 22 countries and territories participated in the 2017 Asian Physics Olympiad. 82 students won prizes.
Last year, the Vietnamese team won 3 silvers, 3 bonzes and two certificates of merit at the event. — VNS
