Erosion damages houses in Sóc Trăng

SÓC TRĂNG — Fourteen houses have been damaged by erosion in Trung Bình Commune, Trần Đề District in the southern province of Sóc Trăng.

No casualties were reported. The erosion created holes which are about three metres in depth.

Local authorities said that each household had losses of about VNĐ20 million (US$870).

Local Border Guards has helped residents to improve the damaged property and local authorities are making plans to move people to safer places. Warning signs were installed in the affected areas. — VNS
