HÀ NỘI — Online public services provided by Nhật Cường Company, which is being investigated for violations, remain normal in Hà Nội, according to Hà Nội Party Secretary Hoàng Trung Hải.

“After the police’s raid and investigation of Nhật Cường Company, the municipal Party Committee asked the People’s Committee and related offices to review and ensure that all online public services were working normally,” said Hải.

Last week, police launched legal proceedings against the director of Nhật Cường Company, a major mobile phone dealer in Hà Nội, for alleged smuggling. Police raided multiple Nhật Cường mobile phone stores.

After entering the IT sector, the company won many large bidding packages.

The Ministry of Public Security has issued a nationwide "wanted notice" against the director-general of Nhật Cường Company.

Hai said that Hà Nội would review legal procedures and bids in an effort to provide solutions for the city's online public services.

Nhật Cường Company is not the only company to provide online services to the city.

Hai said that it was normal for the government to hire services from companies, so the city should prepare a "plan B" when incidents occur.— VNS
