Warhead explosion killed 3 in Cà Mau

 Three people were killed when a bomb left over from the war exploded in Cà Mau Province today, police said.

CÀ MAU — Three people were killed when a bomb left over from the war exploded in Cà Mau Province today, police said.

The explosion occurred at about 6:10am at the home of Nguyễn Văn Thắng in Trần Văn Thời District of the province.

Thắng, 52, was killed on the spot and his daughter-in-law Nguyễn Thị Thúy Dung, 22, and 20-month-old Nguyễn Anh Thư, his granddaughter, were seriously injured at the scene, according to witnesses.

The two relatives died en route to hospital.

The explosion left a 1m crater and severed surrounding trees.
