First bilingual education system debuts in Đà Nẵng

The central city officially introduced the Sakura-Olympia bilingual School, a combined education system of kindergarten, junior and high school, in the 2018-19 school year.

ĐÀ NẴNG — The central city officially introduced the Sakura-Olympia bilingual school, a combined education system of kindergarten, junior and high school, in the 2018-19 school year.

The school, covering 3,100sq.m with a 1,500sq.m outdoor physical training ground and library, is the first with an education system involving a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) curriculum and research in the central and Central Highlands region.

Dr. Nguyễn Thị Anh Đào, founder of the Sakura-Olympia bilingual school, said the system aims to train a generation of students to international standards, with updated technology and science knowledge and English language from all over the world.

She said the school was designed to connect with education systems in the region and the world under basic education programmes from the US and Japan as well as co-operation with parents.

The school also debuted its STEM application and research centre in promoting advanced technology knowledge and education programmes for students at the school.

A community reading space at the school also offers free reading lessons for kids, parents and residents every afternoon. — VNS
