ĐỒNG NAI — Southern Đồng Nai Province has announced the investigation results of the concrete floor collapse, which killed two persons and injured two others at a construction site on May 15.

The deputy director of the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said the concrete floor failed to meet technical requirements.

The accident took place on the second floor of the construction site. The floor was made on May 11. It was still wet and lacked supporting pillars. Heavy rainfall and strong winds on May 15 shook the floor, collapsing it.

The department is coordinating with the police to investigate the matter and make final conclusions, he added.

At 1.30pm on May 15, a group of seven workers were working at the construction site belonging to Tiến Nga Production and Commerce JSC when the concrete floor collapsed. Lê Minh Hoàng, 43, from Đồng Nai Province’s Trảng Bom District and Hán Minh Huân, 35, from northern Phú Thọ Province’s Thanh Sơn District died on the spot. Two others were seriously injured and were taken to the provincial hospital for emergency treatment. — VNS
