Three children drown in Gia Lai, bodies found

Authorities of Krông Pa District in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai found the bodies of three children on Sunday who had gone missing last Friday.

GIA LAI — Authorities of Krông Pa District in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai found the bodies of three children on Sunday who had gone missing last Friday.

The children went swimming at Ba River in the lowland area of Đắk Srông hydropower plants 3A and 3B.

Local authorities mobilised all available forces to search for the children after they were reported missing.

The bodies were found at some 500m, 1km and 3km from where the victims swam, said the local authorities.

The children were students of Lê Quý Đôn Secondary School in Ia Rsươm Commune.

Representatives of the People’s Committees of Krông Pa District and Ia Rsươm Commune visited the victims’ families and provided financial support worth VNĐ4 million (US$177) to each family. VNS
