HÀ NỘI — The Transport Corporation Hà Nội (Transerco) on Thursday introduced two new bus routes to strengthen links with suburban areas.

Bus route No 106 will connect Mỗ Lao residential area in Hà Đông District with Aeon Long Biên Commercial Centre in Long Biên District. Small buses will be used to transport passengers along small streets and residential areas, particularly areas with dense population such as hospitals and schools, to connect with the main bus routes.

Each bus can transport 10-30 people and a one-way ticket will cost VNĐ7,000 (US$0.3). The service will start at 5am and end at 9pm, with one bus every 20-30 minutes.

Bus route No 107 links Kim Mã Street in Ba Đình District, Láng Hòa Lạc Hi-tech Park in Thạch Thất District and the Culture and Tourism Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups in Sơn Tây Town.

The bus comes every 15-20 minutes from 5am to 8.50pm. Each bus can transport 60 people and a one-way ticket costs VNĐ9,000.

Deputy Director General of Transerco Nguyễn Công Nhật said the opening of the two bus routes was expected to serve as a bridge to encourage the development of the Hòa Lạc Hi-tech Park in the near future. It would also help contribute to drawing more tourists to the culture and tourism village.

Each bus is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, GPS, LED lights, as well as equipment to serve passengers with disabilities.

Vice chairman of Hà Nội People’s Committee Nguyễn Thế Hùng said the municipal Transport Department actively worked with Transerco to upgrade the bus system and invest in upgrading vehicles and improving bus service quality this year. Transerco has opened 17 bus routes in 2017. — VNS
