CẦN THƠ — Police in southern Cần Thơ City on Tuesday announced the arrest of four suspects involved in a robbery in the middle of this month.

The victims of the robbery were two Chinese men.

The suspects include Lê Thu Sương, a woman aged 35, and three men -- Lê Hải Lâm, 29; Võ Tấn Trinh, 24; and Trương Văn Chiều, 28. All reside in the city’s Cờ Đỏ District.

According to the police’s initial investigation, the four suspects arranged to rob two Chinese men – Zou Jan Bin, 40, and his friend Lin Li Huo.

The Chinese arrived in Việt Nam in mid-October and sought Sương’s help to arrange a match for Lin Li Huo.

On October 18, Sương and three other suspects met and made plans to rob the Chinese, according to which Lâm and Chiều would “act” as thieves. They stole a total of VNĐ32 million (US$1,400) from the two foreigners.

As soon as the robbery was reported, local police launched a search for the suspects and nabbed them last Saturday. — VNS
