HÀ NỘI – A man from Hà Nội’s Gia Lâm District has been suspended from air travel for nine months after threatening aviation security staff with using a mine.

According to the Việt Nam Aviation Agency, Lê Tuấn Hữu was boarding a flight from Hà Nội to Cam Ranh City in the southern central coastal province of Khánh Hòa at Nội Bài International Airport on Sunday.

The agency said the man’s action was a threat to security and he should be penalised, according to Dân Trí news website.

The ban took effect from September 16 this year to June 15, 2018.

Việt Nam Airlines has asked all airlines departing from Việt Nam to ensure Lê Tuấn Hữu is not allowed to travel.

Previously, two female passengers were also suspended from air travel for six months after creating a disturbance by arguing on the plane. – VNS
