QUẢNG NINH — Border guards in the northern province of Quảng Ninh reported they have repeatedly detained people for smuggling fish from China.

On Monday, the guards detected a boat with a man transporting 40 styrofoam boxes containing ornamental fish, aquatic plants and many accessories for aquariums.

The patrol team seized all the goods because the boat driver failed to show legal documents related to the goods.

Earlier, on Sunday, another man in Móng Cái City was also detained for carrying 47,000 fish for breeding from China without valid invoice.

On the same day, the border guards also nabbed a ship owner transporting 2.2 tonnes of rotten goldfish that came from China.

The competent agency is completing dossiers to handle these cases in accordance with the law. — VNS
