HCM CITY — Five to six taxi stands will be tested in a pilot run on HCM City’s Nguyễn Du, Hàn Thuyền, Alexandre Rhodes and Lý Tự Trọng streets in District 1, the city’s Department of Transport has said.

The department is working with the District 1 People’s Committee to select appropriate signs and taxi companies to carry out the test, as well as specific stand locations.

The taxi stand plan, which is expected to be approved by the People’s Committee, will begin in September.

The stands, which are expected to reduce traffic congestion, will allow passengers to get a taxi more easily, the department said. — VNS
