BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — The Việt Nam Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre Region 3 in southern Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu Province’s Vũng Tàu City successfully saved a Chinese seaman who had suffered a stroke at sea yesterday.

The centre received signals calling for help from the Chinese Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre at 6.40pm on Saturday. The seaman Zhang Qi, 57, an electrician, suffered from a stroke while on the Hai Su 2 Ship from Hongkong.

The centre gave guidance to the Hai Su 2 Ship to head towards the city. After receiving the seaman, doctors and rescue workers administered first aid to the victim.

The seaman is under treatment at the Lê Lợi Hospital in Vũng Tàu City. — VNS
