HCM CITY — A VietjetAir plane had to return to Tân Sơn Nhất Airport due to a passenger’s health problem.

The VJ862 flight bound for Seoul took off at 2.40am on Thursday. Twenty-five minutes after takeoff, a 30-year-old Vietnamese female passenger with a history of heart disease showed signs of breathlessness, the airline reported.

Despite being supported with a medical oxygen mask on the plane, the passenger’s health remained unstable.

The pilot decided to turn around the plane back to HCM City, landing at Tân Sơn Nhất Airport at 4.40am the same day.

The sick woman was rushed to the airport’s clinic while the rest of the passengers remained seated on the plane.

The plane was allowed to take off again at 7.15am, nearly five hours behind its original schedule. — VNS
