HÀ NỘI – The Airport Corporation of Việt Nam (ACV) has submitted a plan to the Ministry of Transport to set up a centre for aviation security at airports nationwide.

The corporation has proposed two options. One is a centre under the control of the ACV, which takes responsibility for aviation security at all airports under its management.

The second option is to set up a company to take responsibility of aviation security and control cargo services at all AVC-managed airports nationwide and private airports at Vân Đồn, Lào Cai, and Phan Thiết. The Việt Nam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), in connection with the matter, recently submitted to the ministry a proposal to move the current aviation security force under its management.

Under the proposal, VATM will establish a one-member aviation security limited company.

At present, the aviation security force is controlled by the ACV. However, because the ACV turned into a stock company in 2016, management of the aviation force is not so suitable anymore.

This is because aviation security is a semi-armed force but benefits from subsidies as a people’s armed force.—VNS
