HẢI PHÒNG — Four workers were seriously burned at a steel billet firing kiln of the Việt Nam-Japan Company in Hải Phòng City yesterday afternoon.

Vũ Huy Ngàn, one of the burned said that he heard an explosion when he was checking the kiln at 2pm.

His clothes were razed, while his back and legs were burned.

The victims were sent to Việt Nam-Czech Friendship Hospital in Hải Phòng.

Bùi Thái Trọng, 34, suffered from the most serious burns, covering 75 per cent of his body. He was sent to National Institute of Burns for further treatment.

Another worker suffered burns to 60 per cent of his body.

The other two are recovering. The cause of the explosion is being investigated. — VNS
