HÀ NỘI — The 6th Việt Nam-US Pediatrics Conference officially opened at Bạch Mai General Hospital, in Hà Nội, on Thursday, bringing together leading domestic and foreign pediatric experts.
The two-day event serves as a forum for participants to share experiences in diagnosing and treating childhood diseases relating to pediatric emergencies, respiratory problems, neonatal care, hematological diseases in children and poisoning.
Prof. Nguyễn Gia Khánh, Vice President of the Việt Nam Pediatric Association, affirmed that the Vietnamese health sector has promoted international cooperation in the field and many advanced technologies and techniques have been successfully applied in Việt Nam, saving many children from fatal diseases.
The regular holding of the conference helped improve the professional ability of Bạch Mai hospital’s medical staff and promote connection with the US, which sees strong development in pediatric treatment.
Studies presented at the five events have become crucial materials for Việt Nam, and have been applied in medical examination and treatment, as well as research activities nationwide.
Associate Prof. PhD Nguyễn Quốc Anh, Director of Bach Mai hospital, said the hospital’s pediatric ward ensures close coordination with domestic and foreign hospitals to use modern technologies for the examination and treatment of children suffering from life-threatening diseases.
The hospital has shared experience annually with delegations of experts from countries with developed medicine like the UK, France, and the US, he said, adding that enhanced coordination among wards in the hospital has also contributed to better care and treatment of patients. — VNS
