HCM CITY — Two fires broke out in HCM City and another one in southern Bình Phước Province on Tuesday morning, leading to property damages, but no fatalities were reported.

At 9.30am, fire broke out at a wood processing company in Đồng Phú District’s Tân Phú Town in Bình Phước.

The blaze started in MDF Kim Tín Joint Stock Company’s kiln and spread to its sawdust storage dump.

Workers had to flee the factory as the flames spread rapidly and damaged property amounted to VNĐ1 billion (US$44,500).

The fire was brought under control in an hour. Initial investigations revealed that fire ash in the kiln started the blaze.

At 11.30am, a huge blaze engulfed a seafood bistro on Phạm Văn Đồng Street, Bình Thạnh District, in HCM City.

Locals tried putting out the fire, but it spread and burned down wooden tables and chairs, gas tanks and a house next door.

The fire was caused by a person carelessly welding inside the bistro.

Later, four people were rescued from a fire on the third floor of Ruby Hotel on Quang Trung Street in HCM City’s Gò Vấp Street. A short circuit is believed to have led to the fire. — VNS
