HCM City operates electric buses on 3 routes

HCM City has begun operating electric buses on a pilot basis on three short routes, including one targeted at tourists.

HCM CITY – HCM City has begun operating electric buses on a pilot basis on three short routes, including one targeted at tourists.

Starting yesterday, D1 runs from September 23 Park to the zoo in District 1, takes 33 minutes for a trip, is operated by Mai Linh Group Corp and targets tourists.

D2 runs from Sky Garden to Crescent Mall in the Phú Mỹ Hưng area in District 7, and D3 runs from Riverside Residence to Crescent Mall in the same area. Both take 14 minutes to complete their trips, and are operated by the City View Real Estate Company.

Each bus has 11 – 15 seats.

The buses run every 30 minutes between 5am and 10pm in District 1 and between 8am and 9:30pm in District 7.

The fare is VNĐ12,000 (US$0.5) for the whole trip and VNĐ6,000 for up to half the trip in D1. Hiring a whole bus costs VNĐ100,000 ($4.5) per trip.

The fare for the other two routes is VNĐ10,000 ($0.45). – VNS
