HCM CITY — The Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Police Department  affirmed that it has arrested Nguyễn Thanh Dũng, the suspect accused of brutally beating a small child in Cambodia.

Major General Hồ Sỹ Tiến, head of the Criminal Police Department, yesterday said Dũng, 34, was caught at about 8pm while fleeing to HCM City.

Previously, on Monday, a video clip showing a Vietnamese man torturing a 2-year-old child at a rubber plantation in Cambodia was circulated. The man used a stunt gun and clamps to beat the child. The video clip outraged the public.
