Four stabbed to death in Hà Giang

Four people, including a two-year-old girl, were stabbed to death in the northern mountainous province of Hà Giang on Thursday morning.

HÀ GIANG — Four people, including a two-year-old girl, were stabbed to death in the northern mountainous province of Hà Giang on Thursday morning.

The suspect has been arrested, said Major General Hồ Sỹ Tiến, head of public security ministry’s criminal police department.

The incident took place around 4.30am in Tân Trịnh Commune’s Tả Ngảo Village, said Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, chairman of Quang Bình District’s People’s Committee.

Phù Minh Tuấn, 32, allegedly attacked his family members Phù Láo Tả, 59, Phù Thị Nguyệt, 2, Tải Thị Mở, 51, and Phù Láo Sán, 16, with a knife. A neighbour, Phù Văn Thịnh, who attempted to stop Tuấn was also stabbed.

Four of the five victims died of injuries. Only Phù Láo Sán has survived the stabbing and is in hospital.

Dũng said the cause of the incident is not yet known, but said that Tuấn had psychological problems. Investigations are underway. – VNS
