HÀ NỘI — Over 7,000 vehicles across the country were penalised in the first nine months of this year for speeding, Nguyễn Văn Huyện, director of the Directorate for Roads of Việt Nam, said.

The violations were discovered via the black box, an itinerary supervision device.

From the above vehicles, more than 5,900 had their badges withdrawn and were temporarily suspended from work within the month. The remaining vehicles were not issued badges for work.

In the last month alone, the departments of transport in the provinces and cities penalised more than 1,400 vehicles, of which 1,203 were temporarily suspended from work within the month and 213 others were denied badges for working. — VNS
