Italy helps Vietnam enhance flood warning capability

The Government of Italy has agreed to provide preferential loans for Việt nam to enhance its flood warning capability and wastewater treatment.

HÀ NỘI — The Government of Italy has agreed to provide preferential loans for Việt nam to enhance its flood warning capability and wastewater treatment.

The loan agreement, worth a total of 13.7 million EUR, was signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyễn Thế Phương and Italian Ambassador to Việt Nam Cecilia Piccioni in Hà Nội on Wednesday.

Of the sum, 9.7 million EUR will be used for the first phase of the project to upgrade the wastewater collection and treatment network in the southern province of Tây Ninh.

The remaining four million EUR will be used for the second phase of the project on enhancing the capability of the central region in flood warning and adapting to climate change.— VNS
