HÀ NỘI — Minister of Information and Communications Trương Minh Tuấn today decided to temporarily suspend the editor-in-chief and the deputy editor-in-chief of online newspaper infonet.vn.

The suspension of editor-in-chief Võ Đăng Thiên and deputy editor-in-chief Phạm Thanh is valid for 15 days. It aims to help clarify their responsibilities to journalism faults that were recently found on the newspaper.

The minister also assigned Nguyễn Văn Bá, a deputy editor-in-chief, to lead the online newspaper during those 15 days.

Earlier this month, Nguyễn Như Phong, editor-in-chief of news website petrotimes.vn, was dismissed from his position and had his press card revoked for “violations in journalism activities.”
