HCM CITY — A major fire razed a one-floor house on Nguyễn Văn Quá Street in HCM City’s District 12 and killed three members of a family at about 3am this morning.

Locals saw the blaze and tried to stamp it out but did not succeed. There were items inside the house that easily caught fire, making it more difficult to control the blaze.

Colonel Lê Tấn Bửu, director of the city’s Firefighting and Prevention Police Department, told the Tiền Phong (Vanguard) newspaper six fire engines and firefighters were dispatched to the scene upon receiving the news. The fire was controlled soon after.

The three victims were Trịnh Ngọc Tin, his wife and their two-year-old daughter.

The family runs a business offering wedding services, such as printing wedding invitations, selling wedding ceremony supplies and renting wedding outfits.

The case is being investigated further. — VNS
