Former executive officials prosecuted for mismanagement

The Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Police Agency yesterday announced they would prosecute former executive officials of the PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC).

HÀ NỘI – The Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Police Agency yesterday announced they would prosecute former executive officials of the PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC).

The executives will be charged with intentionally violating State regulations on economic management that resulted in serious consequences, local media reported.

The alleged mismanagement caused losses worth nearly VNĐ3.3 trillion (US$148 million) for PVC.

The officials facing prosecution include former Director General of PVC and former member of its Board of Directors Vũ Đức Thuận, Deputy Director General of PCV Nguyễn Mạnh Tiến, former Deputy Director General of PVC Trương Quốc Dũng and former Chief Accountant of PVC Phạm Tiến Đạt.

They are being held in temporary detention during the ongoing investigation.

The case is under further investigation.

PVC is a member of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) – the leading economic conglomerate in Việt Nam. The corporation is actively involved in petroleum installation and construction, industrial and civil construction and industrial production.- VNS
