HCM CITY— More than 40 top high-tech companies will participate in Tech Expo 2016 to be held in Hà Nội this Saturday (September 17).

The annual job fair is expected to attract more than 2,000 IT professionals with working experience of two to five years.

The event features on-the-spot interviews with employers as well as technology seminars on Agile culture, big data, the future of game development, and Silicon Valley recruitment of the best engineers.

A coding hackathon competition and technology showcase will be held at the expo.

The expo, held by websites VietnamWorks and topITworks, will take place in HCM City on October 1.

In the first six months of the year, the number of IT job seekers increased by 40 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to a VietnamWorks’ report.

During the period, the number of IT vacancies rose by six per cent compared to the same period last year, the report showed.

The number of software jobs surged by 14 per cent, while hardware jobs were up six per cent during the period.

Recruitment demand for IT officials usually peaks in the last months of the year.

Last year, recruitment demand surged by 63 per cent in the last six months compared to the first six months of the year. —VNS
