HÀ NỘI  All people who joined the war of resistance and their children that are affected by agent orange in Hà Nội will be taken care of and receive treatment.

This is a part of the Hà Nội Department of Health’s plan to give treatment and care to victims of agent orange that has been sent to medical stations in the city.

The department will also give pregnancy consultations to women who have children affected by agent orange.

All agent orange victims will receive rehabilitation. Poor victims will have support to buy health insurance.

Under the plan, medical stations will organise free-of-charge health examinations for people who joined in the resistance war and their children who were affected by agent orange.

Infrastructure at medical stations and rehabilitation centres will be improved.

Medical workers will receive more training to raise their ability to give consultancy on reproductive health and heredity.

The municipal Department of Health will call for organisations and individuals to give financial and spiritual support to the victims.

The Hà Nội Rehabilitation Hospital was asked to conduct research on detoxification of victims of agent orange, and transfer technical knowledge to lower-level medical stations in taking care of victims.

Under the plan, medical stations will join hands with concerned organisations to set up a list of victims for management.

Medical stations, local Departments of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs should act as advisors for provincial People’s Committees about medical insurance policies for victims of agent orange.

Medical stations should be active in giving consultancies on reproductive health, detoxification and rehabilitation for victims.  VNS
