QUẢNG NINH — The Market Watchdog Department and the Police Department of the north-eastern Quảng Ninh Province yesterday culled 15,000 unquarantined chickens of unclear origin.

The market watchdog staff and police had discovered Nguyễn Văn Dũng, 44, of Hải Dương Province’s Ninh Giang District, transporting the chickens in Quảng Ninh Province’s Móng Cái City on Wednesday night.

Dũng failed to show the police legal documents that showed the origin of the chickens. He said he had bought the chickens from several people in the city to sell in nearby provinces.

Dũng was fined VNĐ30 million (US$1,300).—VNS
