Hail storm

Update: April, 04/2016 - 09:00

Blankets are put out to dry in Tân Thịnh Secondary School in the northern mountainous Tuyên Quang Province’s Chiêm Hóa District after hailstones hit the province early yesterday causing serious damage to houses and large areas of vegetable crops. At around 6:40 am, the sky suddenly turned dark, followed by a roaring sound like a thunderstorm and then hailstones. The stones with an average diameter of 5-10cm, with some reaching 15cm, broke the roofs of 200 houses. Fortunately, no injuries were recorded. According to preliminary statistics, the hailstones struck 10 communes and towns in the district, with Tân Thịnh Commune being the hardest hit. — VNA/VNS Photo Văn Tý
