TÂY NINH — The Tây Ninh Province People’s Committee has announced that the auxiliary border gate Chàng Riệc located in the province’s Tân Biên District has been officially upgraded to a main border gate.

The Chàng Riệc is located 100 metres from Road 792 of Tân Biên and contiguous to the Đa border gate of Tbung Khmum Province’s Me Mot District in Cambodia.

Its convenient location and improved infrastructure will help trade between the two countries.

Tây Ninh opened Chàng Riệc in 2012.

On December, 31, 2015, the Prime Minister issued Resolution 90/NQ-CP on upgrading the Chàng Riệc to a main border gate.

According to Tây Ninh’s customs sector, the flow of goods and import-export turnover through the Chàng Riệc has increased in recent years. Most Vietnamese goods are agricultural products and handicrafts.

Last year, the gate has served 98,588 people and more than 71,000 vehicles, with the total import-export turnover reached US$560 million.

Tây Ninh’s border line is 240 kilometres long and contiguous with three provinces of Cambodia, including Svay Rieng, Prey Veng and Tboung Khmum.

It now has two international border gates, Mộc Bài and Xa Mát, two main border gates, Kà Tum and Chàng Riệc, and 12 auxiliary border gates.— VNS
