VUNG TAU (VNS) — A fishing boat with six fishermen on board was rescued by the Ba Ria – Vung Tau border guard command after its engine broke down yesterday off the Vung Tau coast.

Rescue ship BP 13-12-01 immediately rushed to rescue fishing boat KH 90494 after receiving its call for help at about 6.30am yesterday.

The border guards helped the fishermen to bail water from the boat and then towed it safely to Cau Da Port in Vung Tau City.

The fishing boat was going from Con Dao to Vung Tau City when its engine broke down. The winds blowing on the surface of the sea were of level six to seven, making it difficult for the fishermen to control the boat. — VNS
